Empowering families, organizations, and communities to cultivate healthy culture, emotional wellness, mental health, and trauma prevention and recovery through expert consulting and coaching services
Amanda Briggs is a public health educator, trauma recovery researcher, and former military officer with over 18 years of experience in sexual violence prevention, crisis response, mental health strategy, and systems transformation. As founder and principal consultant of First Point Strategies, she helps families, communities, and institutions navigate trauma and build safer, more inclusive environments.
Amanda’s approach blends professional expertise with personal insight. As a survivor of childhood sexual assault, she brings lived experience, academic rigor, and deep empathy to her work. She specializes in creating calm, coherent dialogue around complex and often stigmatized topics—including sexual assault, trauma, suicide, interpersonal violence, and organizational dysfunction. Amanda believes that the solutions to an organization’s most pressing issues can be found in the hearts and minds of its people—when they’re given a safe, inclusive space to speak up and collaborate.
She served as a commissioned officer in the United States Air Force and Space Force, leading high-impact missions as a Flight Director and Test Director for experimental satellite systems. Amanda helped launch the nation’s first orbital warfare unit and directed multidisciplinary teams across the whole of government in the development of national defense strategy. During her time on active duty, she also advised military leaders on organizational culture, sexual assault prevention and response, and mental health.
Her consulting and speaking clients include all branches of the Armed Forces, universities, juvenile recovery programs, and nonprofit organizations. In 2025, Amanda was appointed to the Board of Directors for PPE Kids, where she advises on policy and curriculum related to child sexual assault prevention.
Amanda is currently pursuing a PhD in Community Health Education at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She holds a Master of Public Administration and is a Board-Certified Coach through the Center for Credentialing & Education.
